When writing an appraisal it’s important to be as constructive as possible. Employees need to feel like they are benefiting from the appraisal. It’s ok to give negative feedback, but it should never be a personal attack attack. Try to use avoid words like “fail”, “does not”, and “missed”. Try be as actionable as possible, so employees can learn from their mistakes and correct them in the future. This will not only benefit the employee, but the company as a whole.
